This card depicts a beautifully drawn British WW2 night fighter. When first introduced as a day fighter it had great success as German fighter aircraft attacked from above and from the rear, often a fatal mistake. Once the German pilots understood what was happening the attacked from the front and the aircraft lost its initial advantage. The aircraft was withdrawn from daylight operations, fitted with radar, and re-introduced in to service as a night fighter where it was quite successful.
