Eldred Rock Lighthouse is an octagon shaped lighthouse built in 1905 and first lit on June 1, 1906. Constructed on a small island in the Lynn Canal these rough stormy waters are surrounded by majestic mountains. It was built due to the high number of shipwrecks during the gold rush of 1898.
