I painted this plein-air watercolor of Marshall Point Light, Port Clyde, Maine, on a sunny winter day. Suddenly I noticed ice crystals on my brush and paintbox. I had to put them both in the windshield of the car to let the sun melt them. Once they warmed up I was able to finish the painting.
