Catholics recognize St. Claire of Assisi with a Feast Day each August 11. Clare founded the Order of Poor Ladies and led it in strict poverty and austerity for 40 years. She is often depicted in works of art for the time she displayed the Sacrament and prayed when the convent was being attacked and the perpetrators left them unharmed. This card features a stirring painting by José Benlliure y Gil (1855-1937), which is now in the public domain. The card's creme background has a digitally created, slightly textured, stucco effect. The inside text can be altered to suit other occasions throughout the year. Card design © Good Things By Gorge
