This 25th birthday card for a granddaughter was inspired by peaceful afternoons spent in Paris, sitting beneath the shade of café awnings with a sketchbook, a cup of rich hot chocolate, and a slice of beautifully crafted cake. I love taking time to watch the world drift by, capturing little moments of everyday life through loose sketches and expressive watercolours. The charming cafés, elegant pâtisseries, and relaxed rhythm of the city influenced every part of this illustration, from its whimsical hand-drawn details to its joyful colour palette.
