I've always believed that inspiration comes from slowing down and noticing the little details that others might pass by. While travelling through France, I found endless ideas in elegant pâtisserie windows, hand-tied boxes of sweet treats, antique china plates, and the cheerful atmosphere of bustling cafés. These everyday moments became a collection of sketches, later transformed into this whimsical watercolour illustration with its expressive linework and painterly textures. I created this artwork especially for a granddaughter celebrating her 39th birthday, hoping it captures the warmth, beauty, and simple pleasures that make every birthday worth celebrating.
