There's a wonderful sense of theatre in the way the French celebrate everyday life. Even the simplest cake, afternoon coffee, or visit to a neighbourhood pātisserie feels thoughtfully presented and full of charm. That appreciation for beauty in the everyday inspired this collection of hand-drawn illustrations and loose watercolour textures, bringing together the colours and atmosphere I remember from my travels. I created this artwork as a joyful keepsake for a granddaughter's 45th birthday, celebrating both a special milestone and the simple pleasures that make life so memorable.
