| Artist Notes: | Glowing a brilliant red, the flor de nochebuena blooms along the streets of Puebla, Mexico. Known in the United States as poinsettia, the flor de nochebuena is a sight not easily forgotten. Remembering my stay there, I depict the nostalgia of old Mexico and the love I have for its people and the country. (Inviting the viewer in, elements of the image are outside the picture plane, such as the potted plant at the bottom of the painting.)
