One of the earliest uses of white doves as a symbol is in Judaism and Christianity. Following the great flood in the story of Noah’s Ark, Noah releases a white dove to find fertile land. The earliest mention of white dove releases dates back to Ancient Egypt—roughly 5,000 years ago. They’ve also been used in European, Chinese, Greek, and Roman cultures as part of important milestones, life events, and celebrations. In Ancient Greece and Rome, they were considered symbols of the gods, while Chinese cultures believed they would protect citizens from evil spirits. Wish your wonderful cousin and wife Happy Easter with a religious card featuring a cross with a blue cloth and beautiful white doves on a blue flowered background.
