A Field Spaniel sits in that soft in-between light—the kind that feels like early morning or the quiet end of a day—holding a small flower as if it matters. There’s something unspoken here. Not a trick, not a performance… just presence. The kind of dog that doesn’t push forward, doesn’t need to be seen first, but somehow is always exactly where you need them to be. Rendered in a loose watercolor style, the long ears and deep brown coat dissolve into gentle washes, as if the edges don’t need to be sharp to be understood. Field Spaniels have a way of knowing without being told—of watching, waiting, and staying close in the moments that aren’t loud enough for anyone else to notice. This piece isn’t about a gesture. It’s about that quiet, constant companionship that becomes part of you before you even realize it’s happened.
