Wish your wonderful niece a Happy Valentine's Day with a card featuring pretty red, white, pink hearts and arrows against a solid background with red, fancy text. Design by Laurie Schneider, elements by Diana'z Designz, J. Rett Graphics. Just for fun In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who would be their Valentine. They would wear this name pinned onto their sleeves for one week for everyone to see. This was the origin of the expression, to wear your heart on your sleeve. The heart shape is an ideograph used to express the idea of the heart in its metaphorical or symbolic sense as the center of emotion, including affection and love, especially romantic love.
