There's a touch of mystery in this richly detailed card for the Jewish holiday of Purim. The outstretched hand of a young woman reaches to touch the jeweled tip of a royal scepter in a palace with mosaic-covered arches. The colors are a deep purple ultraviolet, blue turquoise and dark yellow orange. Those who have read "the whole Megillah" and understand the story of Esther will find this a beautiful and unusual way to convey the courage of the Jewish girl who risked death to approach the Persian king and appeal to him for the life of her people. The king's scepter and Esther's sleeve are encrusted with vivid colored gems, and the staff of the scepter gives the illusion of shiny gold. Hebrew letters below "Happy Purim" spell out the traditional greeting, "Chag Purim Sameach." An overall use of white in the palace arches and floor seem to mimic alabaster and conveys the purity of Israel's and Judaism's beloved heroine Hadassah, also known as Esther.
