The image depicts a sunset scene with a prominent black silhouette of a cross on the left side, dominating the foreground. In front of the cross and extending across the bottom of the frame is a dense silhouette of tall grasses and reeds. Behind the cross, the sun is setting, creating a vibrant gradient of oranges and yellows in the sky, with darker silhouettes of hills or mountains in the middle ground. A flock of birds is scattered across the sky, also in silhouette. To the right of the cross and slightly above its horizontal bar, the German phrase "mein herzliches Beileid" is written in elegant, flowing script. The overall composition is dramatic and somber, evoking a sense of mourning or contemplation, with the warm sunset colors providing a contrast to the dark silhouettes. A beautiful German Sympathy card.
